The Young AmeriTowne® of Kansas program teaches essential concepts of societal systems, such as economics, politics, and philanthropy. Through engaging classroom lessons, students prepare for their “Day at Towne,” where they step into real-world roles like mayor, judge, police officer, and more.

This season, 21 schools are participating, with a total of 875 students enrolled. After weeks of classroom preparation, students travel to Young AmeriTowne® in Lenora, KS, for a hands-on field trip. Here, they become citizens of a bustling miniature town, managing businesses, handling finances, and making decisions that impact their local economy.

Students earn paychecks and practice using various payment forms to shop at different businesses, including the Bank, Snack Shop, Container Shop, Digital Media Agency, Energy Resources, Nex-Great Idea Entrepreneurship Shop, TV Station, Radio Station, Medical Center, and Towne Hall. Plans are underway to add an Ag component to the Young AmeriTowne® shops.

Young AmeriTowne® of Kansas in the Northwest Kansas area is being administered by Nex-Generation Round Up for Youth, Inc., under a license from Young Americans Center for Financial Education in Denver, CO. “Young AmeriTowne” and “Young Americans Center for Financial Education” are registered trademarks of Young Americans Center for Financial Education, Denver, CO, and the Young AmeriTowne logo is a trademark of Young Americans Center for Financial Education, Denver, CO
