LENORA, KS, February 10, 2026 – Nex-Tech has made a $75,000 loan to support Bricks Co-Working Hub, a new business and community space in Russell, KS. Bricks will operate open workspaces, office rental, conference room rental, virtual office services, and provide a space for collaboration and creativity in the downtown business district of Russell.

Nex-Tech has provided world-class technology and telecommunications (now broadband) services to the rural communities of Kansas for 75 years. Our team works with small towns to identify locations that need technology services. We work together to develop grant applications, construct the network, and finally maintain the network we build so it’s sustainable.
Nex-Tech hosts several interns each year at both the high school and college level in partnership with Nex-Generation Round-Up for Youth’s internship program. Internships serve both students and companies. Students receive valuable real-world experience in the workplace, work alongside tenured employees, participate in projects, and gain insight into the jobs available here.

Great Bend, KS – December 4, 2025 – The Great Bend Public Library is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Community Grant Program. This generous grant will allow the library to replace its AWE computers (childhood digital literacy stations) with new, all-in-one desktop stations featuring tough-screen capabilities to enhance learning and usability for young children.
As a high school student at Hays High, I can say that feeling safe and secure at school is a top priority for my classmates and me. Through my internship at Nex-Tech, I’ve discovered that they not only provide high-speed fiber internet but also offer a range of security systems, including alarms, surveillance, and access control. These features, implemented in high schools, promote safety and comfort for both students and staff.
For more than a decade, the Nex-Tech Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) has been a reliable means of funding for local businesses across rural Kansas. The fund has loaned over $10 million to support the economy of western Kansas, and this investment has created nearly 300 jobs across the region.
