In early 2024, Communications Data Group (CDG) launched a new platform-based product, CDG Elements, with a bold new look! Hear about the creation of CDGs new brand and how it meets the needs of its new component-based offering.

Challenge
CDG needed a new brand to announce the transformation of its platform solutions. The ask was to create branding that coordinated seamlessly with their existing CDG logo, but was also modern, engaging, flexible, and that encompassed the futuristic vision of the company. Elements was the chosen name for the new platform model system, and the team got to work to find a color palette, create a logo, and design and build a new brand and website, all in just a few short months.

The design team drew inspiration from their high school chemistry days, creating webs of hexagonal shapes and discovering interesting ways to show connection, fluidity, and structure. One of the most alluring things about the new Elements OSS/BSS platform is the ability for CDG’s customers to choose each of the specific elements they need for their business, allowing the solutions to be custom-fit for the user. By using a wide color palette consisting of dark and bright options for pink, orange, blue, purple, and red, the brand components soon became as unique and customizable as the product itself.
CDG’s Elements were categorized into six main functionality groups. Each element was assigned a two-letter pair, reminiscent of the periodic table, and each functional group was assigned a main color. Together these six colorful groups of elements exist on a bright white stage, allowing the viewer to take in the important information without being overwhelmed. Nex-Tech Creative produced a shiny new website, printed material, logo and brand guide, and trade show booth designs as part of this project.
