Nex‑Tech Opens New Corporate Office in Salina, Expanding Presence in Central Kansas
Company transforms former entertainment center into a modern hub for technology, operations, and robotics
SALINA, Kan. — September 17, 2026 — Nex-Tech has officially opened a new office location in Salina, Kansas, marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued investment in central Kansas. The new facility, formerly Jumpin’ Joe’s Family Fun Center, blends modern technology infrastructure with the fun of the building’s origin.
The former Jumpin’ Joe’s facade gave way to a refreshed exterior — new color, updated signage, flagpoles, and mature landscaping at the door.
Customers, partners, stakeholders and community members gathered for the official ribbon-cutting and open house ceremony hosted by the Salina Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the occasion. The multi-phase renovation of the building was carried out by Hutton, a construction firm that managed extensive structural, electrical, and technical upgrades throughout the project. The renovation included a new roof, updated restrooms, reconfigured office spaces, and the addition of mezzanines to the floorplan. JGR Architects of Salina redesigned the building to be secure, adaptable, and resilient. The night before the original ribbon cutting was planned in June, a violent storm came through Salina and wreaked havoc on the city, but the building remained fully operational and saw no vulnerabilities thanks to the heavy concrete construction and preparation. The facility will serve as office space for Nex-Tech’s growing team and includes a high-tech training room, robotics display area, a network operation center (NOC) and houses a fiber data center.
Coin-op rides and a crane machine gave way to a “History of Innovation” timeline wall that greets visitors on the way in.
While the building is primarily a technology center, some of the more fun characteristics of the property were also maintained, making it a fully multi-purpose space. This includes the 36-hole putt-putt course, and the go-kart track for employee use. In June 2026, the company hosted an employee picnic, bringing hundreds of Nex-Tech employees and their families from across Kansas to celebrate family, community, and innovation. Both the putt-putt course and the go-kart track were fully utilized, demonstrating the company’s employee-first culture.
Skee-ball lanes and arcade games became a welcoming lobby — reception desk, open sightlines to the mezzanine, and a sculpted ceiling in company colors.
The transformation of the space reflects Nex-Tech’s approach to infrastructure investment: purposeful, forward-looking, and respecting community context. Reflecting on the project, Jimmy Todd, CEO and General Manager of Nex-Tech spoke of the investment Nex-Tech has made to meet the needs of the customers and communities they serve, “our expansion into a permanent Salina office is a way for us to deepen our roots in central Kansas. We’re committed to growing with the communities we serve and this building will not only serve Nex-Tech well, but will be an asset to the city of Salina.”
The ticket counter and play-zone murals gave way to an open two-story workspace — mezzanine seating, warm wood accents, and branded signage anchoring the atrium.
A notable visitor to the new facility was Gary Bolton, the President and CEO of Fiber Broadband Association, the largest trade association in the Americas dedicated to all-fiber-optic broadband infrastructure.
Salina Area Chamber of Commerce President, Renee Duxler, had this to say of Nex-Tech at the event, “Nex-Tech has provided critical technology and connectivity here in Salina and across our rural communities in Kansas, but they’ve also invested heavily in our local businesses, our organizations, our families, and it’s great to have their partnership and their commitment to Salina.”
The blacked-out laser tag arena is now the NOC — a video wall of live network monitoring, operator workstations, and the Nex-Tech mission on the wall.
Nex-Tech employs more than 300 people across Kansas and donates more than $200,000 annually to charitable causes throughout the region. The company has grown from its roots in Lenora, KS to now serving cities like Great Bend, Hays, and Salina. Speaking on the project and Nex-Tech’s expansion in Salina, Dustin Schlaefli, VP of Customer Experience, said “We want our customers, partners, and neighbors to know that we are here to stay. We now have a permanent base from which we can service the technology and community needs of Salina and central Kansas. Having this new central office and data center capability in Salina creates additional redundancy and geo-diversity to our network infrastructure to continue to better serve our customers and maintain a superior level of service. We are grateful for the partnership of our customers and the community support.”
The old party rooms along the mezzanine wall are now glass-fronted meeting rooms, with an open stair and gallery seating in place of the arcade floor.
Nex-Tech is actively involved in a range of projects and initiatives that benefit residents and businesses across central Kansas. Through the Revolving Loan Fund Program, Nex-Tech provides low-interest financing to small businesses that may not qualify for conventional bank credit, supporting the creation of more than 100 jobs across rural communities in the region.
Where laser tag obstacles once stood, rows of enclosed racks and power distribution now run the network — clean floors, structured cabling, and dedicated lighting.
The downtown Nex-Tech store at 104 N Santa Fe will continue to be the primary retail location for customers inquiring about Internet, TV and phone services. The store hours for this location were just recently expanded to be open weekdays 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
