Nex-Tech Endorses Lowering Broadband Costs for Consumers Act of 2025

May 7, 2025

Lenora, KS, May 7, 2025- Nex-Tech, a leading provider of broadband services in rural Kansas, announces its support for the reintroduction of the Lower Broadband Costs for Consumers Act of 2025. This legislation, sponsored by Senators Mullin, Kelly and Crapo,  provides common-sense reform of the Universal Service Fund which allows regulated service providers in high-cost rural areas to build, enhance and maintain broadband infrastructure and accessibility in rural areas, ensuring that communities across the nation have access to reliable and high-speed internet, similarly supporting Lifeline for low income families, E-Rate for schools and libraries, and a rural telehealth program.

Jimmy Todd, CEO and General Manager of Nex-Tech, expressed strong support for the bill, stating, “The reintroduction of this Bill shows the importance of a sustainable, reliable USF program for today and the future. This legislation is a significant step towards reform that has been needed for over a decade. The Lower Broadband Costs for Consumers Act of 2025 will provide the necessary and predictable support for rural broadband providers like Nex-Tech to expand and improve our services, ultimately benefiting the communities we serve.”

Nex-Tech has been at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge broadband solutions to rural Kansas, and this Bill will further empower the company and peer service providers across the country to enhance their services and reach more communities in need of high-speed broadband connectivity. The support from this legislation will enable Nex-Tech to continue its mission of providing reliable and high-speed internet to every corner of rural Kansas.
