Nex-Tech Powers Learning at FHSU
Written by: Marley Little
As a current Fort Hays State University student, my college experience has benefited from the technology I have access to, which is directly supported by Nex-Tech’s high-speed fiber internet.
I graduated high school with a class of only fifteen students, so coming to FHSU has been a change in many ways, especially in my education. Before, I had access to good technology, but it was nothing like what FHSU has offered me. Nex-Tech connects students and powers learning in many ways, and I’ve experienced these firsthand.
For example, with Nex-Tech’s fiber services, I can take almost any class online. This puts me, and many other students, on track to graduate early due to the accessibility of courses. Even for my in-person classes, all the course details are stored on an online platform, including homework, textbook, and more.
Nex-Tech’s high-speed internet also supports students’ projects. Fiber technology allows students like me to complete intensive research, create formal presentations, and write lengthy papers. For example, I worked on a 20-page research paper for finals, and it went smoothly, partly because I was connected to Nex-Tech high-speed internet. I was also able to create, edit, and upload a film project for my Spanish Class while utilizing Nex-Tech internet.
Nex-Tech also helps support student life by enhancing community spaces. Every student has their preferred study spot. For example, a coffee shop, library, or park. Nex-Tech’s accessible internet allows students to study in the areas they choose. Fiber technology also supports student life by providing high-speed internet services for the devices we use. From studying with a group of friends to playing video games and hosting movie nights, Nex-Tech accommodates the busy, social schedules of college students.
Nex-Tech empowers learning at FHSU by being involved in the most important aspects of student life and making fiber services accessible to all students. Those like me who call a rural part of Kansas home get to experience high-tech education services.
