Nex-Tech Investment Impact – Waldo Tavern
Written by: Marley Little
How could a $50,000 loan impact a rural community?
Nex-Tech’s Revolving Loan Fund has many examples, like this one from📍Waldo, KS.
In September 2025, Nex-Tech’s RLF loaned $50,000 to Nicholas and Crystal Bennison to bring their dream restaurant to life. Here’s how things are going:
“We have 1,300 followers and have had people from Kansas City, Salina, Hays, and Russell regularly. During hunting season, we had hunters from as far away as Canada. Our theme of Where’s Waldo this Month? is going well – in January we had Hawaiian specials, in February Italian, and in March Irish ones.
People are embracing the new cuisine well, and many dishes are being tried. We have several die-hard customers who come in several times a weekend to try our specials.
Our breakfast is given many kudos, and customers appreciate having a place to sit down, relax, and enjoy a meal with friends and family.
“Many customers ask when we will be getting our liquor license and enhancing the parking area and bar offerings…”
– Nicholas and Crystal Bennison, Owners of The Waldo Tavern, Waldo, KS.
