Growing in Leadership Through the Nex-Tech Way

Melissa Lindenman is the Accounting Supervisor at Nex-Tech, where she has invested more than 25 years supporting finance, accounting, and billing operations. In this piece, she reflects on leadership growth, the impact of community involvement, and how the Nex-Tech Way empowers employees to grow, serve, and make a lasting impact.

One of the things I appreciate most about working at Nex-Tech is the way our company supports both professional growth and community involvement. We are encouraged not only to do our jobs well, but to invest in our communities, serve alongside others in our local communities, and continue growing as leaders. That support allows us to grow personally while also strengthening the places where we live and work.

Because of that culture and the encouragement I’ve received from leaders and teammates along the way, especially Rhonda Goddard and Mindy Bieker, I’ve had opportunities to continue developing through the Kansas Leadership Center (KLC), taking courses in all 3 steps of the KLC Path. Earning my facilitator certification for When Everyone Leads. This led to me being asked to help facilitate the When Everyone Leads course for Gove County Medical Center. What an honor and blessing to be able to do so.

Gove County Medical Center recently received a KLC Transformation Grant that will allow nearly 50 members of their organization to participate in all three steps of the KLC leadership pathway. Their commitment to investing in leadership development across their team is inspiring, and it was exciting to be part of the beginning of that journey.

Experiences like this are a great reminder that leadership development extends beyond our own organization. Nex-Tech’s support for employee involvement in local boards, programs, and leadership initiatives strengthens the communities we serve while helping employees grow in meaningful ways.

I’m grateful to work for a company that encourages us to step forward, continue learning, and bring those experiences back to benefit both our teams and our communities. Opportunities like this truly reflect the Nex-Tech Way: investing in people, supporting our communities, and growing leadership at every level.
