Network Technician I – Beloit, Smith Center, Osborne
As a Network Systems Technician at Nex-Tech, you will be at the forefront of ensuring maximum uptime and seamless operation of our managed services customers’ network systems. This role involves a combination of on-site visits and remote monitoring to set up, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure. Your expertise will be critical in keeping our customers’ systems current, secure, and operating at peak performance.
Essential Job Functions:
- Install and configure workstation, server, and network solutions, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Perform standard system administration duties such as server installation, patch management, and log analysis.
- Provide on-site and telephone technical support for Nex-Tech customers.
- Conduct regularly scheduled maintenance to troubleshoot and maintain network systems.
- Monitor customer networks remotely to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Track time and expenses for billing purposes.
- Stay abreast of new and alternative technologies through research.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Company policies, procedures, products, and services.
- Familiarity with computer technology and terminology.
- Proficiency in diagnostic testing software and troubleshooting procedures.
- Basic understanding of electrical and electronic circuitry.
- Ability to operate personal computers and related software.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with customers, coworkers, and business contacts.
- Physical capability to test and repair equipment in cramped areas.
- Capacity to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments under time constraints.
- Valid Kansas driver’s license required.
- Team player mentality with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience in computer/peripheral and network support.
- CompTia A+ certification, Security+ certification, or equivalent required. Alternatively, candidate must have the ability to obtain these certifications within six months of hire date.

Competitive Compensation:Â Starting hourly wage of $25.45 or more, based on experience.Â
