Full-Time Construction Assistant – Lenora, KS

 
If you like working outdoors and have experience in cable installation and splicing, or have used digging and trenching equipment, bucket trucks, and other construction equipment, we may have a position for you.
 
Nex-Tech is seeking a Construction Assistant to operate digging, trenching, and cable installation equipment. Must be able to perform manual work to complete work orders, troubleshoot and repair buried and aerial plant, and maintain right-of-way. Assists with splicing cables and pulling cables to appropriate locations. Duties also include routine maintenance of construction equipment. Summer and winter work conditions.
 
Requirements:
  • 18 years of age.
  • Three months of construction experience working with heavy equipment.
  • Prior telecommunications experience beneficial.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • CDL not required but preferred.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements.

Network Technician - Victoria KS

Our Network Operations technician will design, monitor, and troubleshoot equipment associated with our alarming and monitoring platform. This position will maintain, operate, and closely monitor Nex-Tech’s and customers installations of our alarming and monitoring platform.
 
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of UNIX, LINUX, and Windows-based servers.
  • Knowledge of Network Management Tools, SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)
  • Skill in operating various test gear associated with transport and distribution system.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, SIP, and other protocols.
  • Knowledge of network testing software including Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf and remote testing procedures.
  • Knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 switching, QoS, MPLS, 802.1Q tagging, SD-WAN and transport protocols.
  • Knowledge of configuration and alarming of Adtran, Calix, Cordell, or similar equipment.
  • Skilled in analytical thinking, problem solving and resolving complex problems involving multiple vendors and unusual customer applications.
Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma plus one to three years of experience in computer/ peripheral and network support.

Nex-Tech also provides an array of enterprise solutions including cloud services, Hosted PBX, network security, managed IT, physical security and surveillance, advertising solutions, and network operations monitoring to business clients nationwide. Nex-Tech focuses on providing our customers the best technology and support with the best people and has been doing so for more than 70 years.
 
Our Customer Sales Assistant sells and promotes products and services, prepares customer contracts, and processes payments. Duties also include working closely with customers answering questions, processing adjustments to accounts, and resolving billing issues. The right person must be outgoing, maintain a proficient knowledge of products and services, have excellent oral and written communication skills, be community driven, and must also be willing to travel to work in various offices in the Nex-Tech service area.

Sales Representative - Grand Island, Hastings, or Kearney, NE

Our Sales Representative's main purpose is to generate business with customers/prospects and propose exceptional technology solutions to enhance business operations and solve issues. You will also provide sales support and collaborate with project managers to create accurate sales proposals. You will receive consistent one-on-one training and ongoing mentoring from the sales managers and other sales representatives. You will also receive hands on experience and training using leading edge sales tools and tactics to promote and sell products and services for Nex-Tech in the Hastings, Grand Island, or Kearney area.
 
Desired Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic economic principals of pricing and financing.
  • Knowledge of how to identify sales opportunity and close business.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple work assignments.
  • Ability to use a solution selling approach to recognize opportunities, gather customer requirements, and properly recommend products and services.
  • Ability to build a business-to-business sales network and drive revenue.
  • Ready to learn about the IT industry and gain a technical understanding of those solutions.
 
Education and Experience: 
  • Associate's degree in Business or IT Technology, or equivalent experience.

Network Technician I – Dodge City, KS

Our Network Technician will work directly with managed services customers to set-up and maintain network systems on a regular basis by on-site visits. The right candidate will be one who enjoys getting to know their customers, understanding their business and how IT helps move it forward, and working independently. Daily tasks will include system administration duties including server installation, system/application installation and patch management, Windows issue resolution, log analysis and others. Configures, tests, and maintains LAN/WAN equipment and services including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN. The employee will also provide on-site and telephone technical support for Nex-Tech customers.

  • Knowledge of computer technology and its associated lingo.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic testing software and troubleshooting procedures.
